今回の第5話では、コタローとマヤが折り紙をテーマにクラスで発表します。
留学生ルーカスからの質問に、コタローは緊張しながらも、自分の言葉で答えようと挑戦します。

Sharing Origami in Class
Today, Kotaro and Maya stand in front of their classmates to give a presentation on Japanese culture.
Their chosen topic is origami, the traditional art of folding paper.
Kotaro begins the presentation with a calm voice.
“Origami is a Japanese art form that involves folding paper into various shapes. With just one piece of paper, you can create cranes, flowers, animals, and many other designs.”
Maya continues,
“Origami has a long history. It began hundreds of years ago and is still enjoyed by people of all ages today. It is often used for decoration, gifts, and even education.”
As the presentation goes on, Lucas raises his hand.
“Is it difficult to make a paper crane?” he asks with genuine curiosity.
Kotaro feels his heart beat faster. For a brief moment, he hesitates, searching for the right words.
Then he takes a small breath and answers,
“It can be challenging at first, especially if you’re not used to folding paper.
But once you understand the steps, it becomes fun and very satisfying.”
Lucas smiles brightly.
“That sounds interesting. I’d love to try it sometime.”
Hearing this, Kotaro feels a quiet sense of achievement.
He answered a question—in English—and shared something meaningful about his culture.
Maya looks at him and says softly,
“You explained it really well.”
Kotaro nods.
In that moment, he realizes that English is not just something to study for tests.
It is a tool that allows him to share ideas, traditions, and experiences with people from around the world.

今日、コタローとマヤは日本文化について発表するため、クラスの前に立っていました。
